- What about liability?
- You participate at your own risk.
By joining the course, you agree to our Terms of Use and liability disclaimer.
Please train responsibly, stay within your physical limits, and ensure your environment is safe.
- Is it safe to train at home?
- Yes — if you follow the safety guidelines.
Train in a clear space and move with control. Avoid applying full force when practicing locks or takedowns with a partner.
Stop immediately if you feel pain or discomfort. For advanced partner work, we recommend training with supervision or an experienced partner.
- How often should I train to see progress?
- We recommend 2–3 short sessions per week, plus one longer partner session every 1–2 weeks.
Consistency is key — it’s better to train regularly for shorter periods than occasionally for long sessions.
Repetition and structured practice will help you build automatic responses under stress.
- Who is this course for?
- This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn realistic and effective self-defense against the 10 most common street attacks — regardless of experience, gender, or age (16/18+).
It focuses on real-life situations such as grabs, chokes, and strikes, teaching you practical skills you can apply immediately. Whether you’re a beginner or already experienced, you’ll gain clear, structured, and realistic training.
- How long do I have access to the content?
- With a one-time purchase you have lifetime access to all lessons of the course. With a matching SAMI membership (Full Membership, or a Single Membership for the matching system), the lessons are also available for as long as your membership is active.
This means you can train at your own pace, revisit the material anytime, and refresh your skills whenever you want.
- Will I have access to community or live sessions?
- Community: yes. Live sessions: no.
The course has its own community where you can ask questions and exchange with other participants.
Live trainings are not part of this course. If you wish to join live trainings, you can do so through an active SAMI-X membership.
- Does the course include warm-up and cool-down routines?
- No.
The course focuses exclusively on the 10 attacks and their defenses.
We recommend doing your own warm-up before training — for example, light mobility work, shadowboxing, or joint activation exercises.
- Does the course cover legal aspects?
- Yes.
The course includes basic information about self-defense laws, proportionality, and de-escalation.
This serves as general guidance to help you understand your legal limits in a real-life situation. It does not replace legal advice.
- What equipment do I need?
- No special gear is required.
Comfortable workout clothes and stable shoes are enough. Focus mitts or pads can be helpful for partner drills.
Many techniques can be trained solo, but for realistic application and reaction training, a partner is essential. A training dummy can be used as a supplement.
- Are weapons defenses included?
- No.
This course focuses only on unarmed situations — such as grabs, chokes, and punches.
You will not learn specific defenses against knives, firearms, or other weapons in this program.
- What if I have injuries or health concerns?
- If you have any injuries or medical conditions, consult your doctor before starting.
Adjust each drill to your own level and avoid pain or overexertion.
The goal is to train safely, effectively, and with awareness.
- Do I need a training partner?
- Yes.
For the practical applications, you will need a partner to practice timing, distance, and realistic reactions.
Many preparation drills can be done solo, but to truly understand how the techniques work under pressure, a partner is required.
- How can I get technical support?
- If you experience any technical issues or have questions, simply use the support chat window at the bottom-right corner of the platform.
Our team will see your message there and respond as soon as possible.
- Are there exams or certificates?
- No.
This course is a personal training resource, not a certification program.
It helps you build practical skills but does not include any formal testing or certificates.
For instructor training or certification programs, please visit our official SAMI courses.
- Do I need prior experience or special fitness?
- No. You don’t need any martial arts background or high fitness level.
Each lesson is structured progressively so you can learn step by step and adapt the drills to your ability.
If you have physical limitations, you can simply adjust the intensity to suit your condition — safety and control come first.
- Can I upload videos and get feedback?
- No.
This is a self-study course only — there is no individual feedback or video review included.
You receive high-quality instructional videos that guide you step by step.
If you want feedback on your training, choose one of our courses with assignments: there you submit your videos and SAMI instructors review them.
